What is it
Seaside Rangers is a Marine Wildlife and
Nature Club for children dedicated to
studying and conserving marine life in our
seas, on our beaches and along our
As a Seaside Ranger, children discover,
explore, have fun, get hands-on
experiences, learn field study skills, grasp
identification techniques and make stuff!
Members, and their families, also get the
opportunity to go on field trips that are
arranged seasonally throughout the year
and take part in any of the family events
organised each month.
The Nitty Gritty Bits
When we meet?
Seaside Rangers meet monthly for a 90 minute outdoor session year-round on the first Sunday of the month, whatever the weather!
That varies! Tide dependent. Members will be notified in advance.
Location / Where we meet
Rest Bay, Porthcawl CF36 3QB. The home of Beach Academy Wales using the marine habitats directly on our doorstep for outdoor sessions.
The Seaside Rangers club is aimed at children aged 6-12 only. No exceptions. Children may be left unaccompanied if you so wish. No charge for an adult should you wish to accompany them and help out!
Parents must complete a registration form for their child(ren) the first time they come to club. Registration is free.
Health & Safety Issues
Wear appropriate clothing for each meeting as sessions are hands-on outdoors, whatever the weather. We do, as a club, advise that your child has up to date anti-tetanus injections.
